Is Air Fried Food Good For You?

Since you are saving time on having an air-fryer, I know the other the question that quickly arises, which is.. is it healthy? Good for you? and I will say, there are pros and cons.

The pros: Air-fryers make it incredibly easy and time-saving to cook food. They can save you money on the bills since not much oil is needed (and therefore neither wasted), which generally makes the food you cook healthier than if you were to use a traditional deep-fry method. (Actually, the number is a whopping 70% less oil)

They can also quickly heat leftover meals if you want to have a 2-in-1 tool to cook and re-heat your food, which microwaves lack a bit of invention. So they can save you both money, time, and calories in the long run.

The cons: Firstly, they can be a bit of an investment. Secondly, they do have a limited capacity in terms of what they can contain in the food basket of the air-fryer. Thirdly, if you have a small kitchen, you need to consider the amount of space you have for an air-fryer, but as always, it depends on the size, price and brand you buy it from.

If you don’t currently have an air-fryer to make these air-fried potatoes, you can instead go ahead and use my Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Potatoes Recipe to do the more traditional roasted potatoes.

Method for Air Fryer New Potatoes:

Drain the liquid from the canned potatoes, and then with a paper towel, dry the potatoes the best you can. The dryer you make them, the crispier they become.

Pre-heat your air-fryer for 5 minutes or pre-heat your oven to 200c.

Add the potatoes to a mixing bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Then mix well, so all the potatoes are well coated in the herb and oil mix.

Place the potatoes into the Air-fryer bucket and cook at 200c for 20-25 minutes. Make sure halfway through cooking you shake well and then cook until golden brown. Just cook on a baking tray for 30-35 minutes if you’re using an oven.

Once cooked, serve immediately with some fresh parsley to finish. Enjoy!
