Minty Citrus Iced Tea Recipe

Summer, sunshine and blue skies are officially above us! And the warm weather the past couple of weeks have definitely had its impact in England. We’ve been going to the beach or stayed in our garden a lot of times already. As any well-brought up English-man is, we do love our teas. But what do we do, when the weather gets too hot to enjoy a nice cup of hot tea? (Answer: Nothing, we still drink it, haha)

But, if anything does change for our tea-loving roots, it’s the fact that we now can seize the opportunity to spice up our drink in a new, cooler and tastier way!

That is why, during the summer months, I (Steve) like to make a massive jar of iced tea that can easily be stored in the fridge for days, so I can just pour myself a glass of iced tea whenever I feel like it. The best part of this recipe is, that it literally takes no time to make, so it is well-worth your time, if you can’t be bothered to make a freshly squeezed iced tea every day.

For this particular recipe I went with the standard English breakfast tea bags, some grapefruit, lemons, limes and mint for garnish. You can let the fruits soak in the jar for days in the fridge, and the longer you do, the more of a deeper rich flavours comes out as a result.

But with no further explanation, let’s cook! Remember to share it and tag me to share you on either:

Can you use different types of tea?

Yes! I love using the popular English breakfast tea for my morning tea, and it went super well in this recipe to use together with citrus fruits. But if you prefer a different tea, then you can use any kind of tea you like. If you want the lemon or mint to stand out even further, then you can use a green tea, but as any rule of thumb with tea, the more you allow the tea bags to simmer, the stronger the tea flavours will become, so I suggest you taste throughout the process.
